Important Information

Emergency Care

Our medical providers are available after hours to answer emergency questions that can’t wait until the next business day. If you have a serious or life threatening emergency, do not wait to talk to your medical provider, go directly to the emergency room or call 911. A serious emergency would be something such as severe shortness of breath, chest pain, severe dizziness, uncontrolled vomiting, or uncontrolled pain. After hours call 816.554.1918 and our answering service will help you to contact your medical provider.

Hospital Care

Should you need to be hospitalized, you can go to your hospital of choice. Although your medical provider will not take care of you in the hospital setting, there are specialty trained “hospitalist” that have agreed to take care of our patients just while you are in the hospital. A hospitalist is a specialty trained provider that just takes care of critical/acute problems inside the hospital. The hospitalist group will keep us updated on your condition and have you follow up with us if needed after hospitalization. Talk with your medical provider also about taking care of your needs at John Knox Village Care Center if needed.

If you need a prescription to be picked up at our office please call us during office hours and allow 48 hours for it to be processed. Prescriptions will NOT be filled after hours or on weekends. If you need any other medications please call your pharmacy for your refill to ensure that your prescription is filled in the most accurate and timely way possible. If you have questions regarding your medicine please feel free to call our office and speak with our staff.

Lab Results

Our office can draw your blood for lab tests in the office if ordered by one of our medical providers. Lab tests ordered by another medical provider should be set up by that medical provider at their office. If everything is routine and normal you will receive notification by mail. If your lab or tests are abnormal our office will call you personally. Call our office if you have not heard from us within two weeks.
